Carmel Valley
Welcome to Carmel Valley
Carmel Valley is a vibrant community with nearly perfect year-round temperatures positioned roughly half-way up the San Diego County coastline– convenient to almost everything. Located adjacent to the beaches at Del Mar and Torrey Pines (and Torrey Pines Reserve), with UCSD and its surrounding biotech and communications industries only minutes away. A quick twenty-minute drive south will take you to the San Diego airport, Downtown San Diego, Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo, Mission Bay, Sea World, and more. Minutes north, there are the beach cities of Solana Beach and Encinitas. And only 20 minutes north of Carmel Valley there are developing centers around La Costa and Palomar Airport, as well as the Carlsbad Flower Fields and Legoland.
The Carmel Valley name comes from the community’s location—in a wide valley immediately to the north of Carmel Mountain, which is a minor feature at the intersection of I-5 and SR-56. The schools are number one in the county and top ten in the state. Carmel Valley is a very desirable area with homes close to walking trails, bike trails, horse trails, and most importantly, the beaches.
The two main shopping areas are located at Del Mar Highlands Town Center, and the most recently developed center, One Paseo, are premier open-air shopping, dining, and entertainment centers recognized for their unique collection of small boutique stores, variety of restaurants, and a movie theater. The center also offers its own summer concert series each year. Other Carmel Valley shopping areas, Piazza Carmel and Carmel Country Plaza host numerous seasonal activities for the community as well.
What we love about Carmel Valley:
