Carlsbad

Welcome to Carlsbad

Carlsbad is a lovely seaside resort city occupying a 7-mile stretch of Pacific coastline in northern San Diego County. The city of Carlsbad is located 87 miles south of Los Angeles and 35 miles north of downtown San Diego. Referred to as “The Village by the Sea” by locals, the quaint seaside downtown area is full of great shops to explore and many wonderful restaurants. Other attractions in Carlsbad, aside from walking or riding your bicycle near the gorgeous clean sandy beaches, are the nearby Legoland California Resort, a popular and fun family amusement park, admire the breath-taking Carlsbad flower fields, or handpick the very best strawberries from the Carlsbad strawberry fields.

For residents, Carlsbad has much top-rated public and private schools in the area. There are fantastic stores to roam at the Carlsbad Premium Outlets, an open outdoor shopping experience you’ll be sure to visit often, many well respected, beautiful golf courses, and many top golf manufacturing companies call Carlsbad their home headquarters. There is the McClellan-Palomar Airport for private and commercial affairs. Also, Carlsbad is home to the nation’s largest water desalination plant, the Carlsbad Desalination Plant at the Encina Power Plant.

Living in Carlsbad is easy and convenient because Carlsbad is home to many notable corporate headquarters and also top employers such as ViaSat, Life Technologies Corporation, or the City of Carlsbad. For recreation and relaxation, you can visit one of Carlsbad’s three open space lagoon areas, one of the three public libraries, a State beach campground on the beach-side cliffs, and even visit two great local museums–The Museum of Making Music and the Miniature Engineering Craftsmanship Museum.

What we love about Carlsbad:

  • A destination city for residents and tourists alike
  • Home to North County attractions like parks, resorts, and flower fields
  • Great for recreation and relaxation
